This trip was the easiest holiday to plan ever. Sue & Michael couldn't have been more helpful, both before we went and while we were there. Their complete thoroughness was second to none. They made us feel completely at home.It was perfect for what we wanted. It was very neat and clean, had good quality bedding, good showers & in a great location as long as you have a car. What a wonderful setting. Choose between lazing by the pool, take a 10 min car ride into Fasano to buy some excellent fresh breads, cheeses or meats for the BBQ or take a short car ride to some excellent beaches. A beautifully relaxing holiday in fabulous surroundings. We particularly enjoyed: Locorotondo – a really smart old town and lots of family tavernas, and dinner in Martina Franca. Brilliant weather, brilliant beaches. Much recommended. Great value, very comfortable, friendly locals and easy to find.

Villa Silvana nestles in picturesque hillside surroundings, with magnificent far reaching views to the Adriatic coast line. The directions from Bari airport to the Villa where clear, concise and easy to follow. When we arrived, Susan and Michael met us with a very warm welcome, which was very much appreciated after a hot days travelling. Our apartment was decorated beautifully and was spotlessly clean. The facilities matched our expectations, and the swimming pool area was very relaxing. The pagoda dining area  was a great place to eat and on our first evening we enjoyed some of the contents of the welcome hamper that was packed with luxurious local produce. The small local village is within walking distance, and has its own mini supermarket, bar and butchers. Further shops and a large supermarket are only a ten minute drive away. There are many places to visit and great places to eat the local cuisine and of course the world famous 'Trulli houses' are "a must". I would recommend the Villa Silvana to all types of holiday makers; you can make it as exciting or relaxing as you want. I would endorse Michael and Susan's excellent accommodation and hospitality to everyone. I look forward to my next visit. Tranquill Villa Silvana!

I have stayed at this Villa a couple of times and each time it gets better and better. It set on a hill with far reaching views of the sea over the olive groves of Fasano and the swimming pool and facilities are second to none. The area has a mass of things to do, places to visit and the weather is not to be missed. The proprietors are extremely knowledgeable of the area and every recommendation was outstanding. The property is exceptionally clean, well maintained and in comparison to the Villa we stayed in in Mauritus, more than well equipped for self catering. I would recommend this property not only to friends, but families as well, as the facilities for children have been well thought out. In fact they have thought of everything. I am already looking forward to my next trip!!!!

This was our first visit to Puglia although we have spent many happy holidays in Italy and Sicily. We found that Villa Silvana lived up to the description on the internet, regarding location, layout and facilities. It was spotlessly clean, in good condition and tastefully decorated and furnished. The owners were always there to help if we needed them and had left a really useful manual on the local area for us. As this is a self catering holiday, we found the village shop useful for basics and there is a really good supermarket a short drive away, and a pizzeria. For eating out in the evening we drove to a local restaurant or drove about ten minutes to the beautiful hilltop town of Locorotondo. There are some lovely historic coastal towns and good beaches about10km away and the roads are good. The villa is set on a mountain side surrounded by greenery and winding roads bordered by grey stone walls with views of well tended fields. If we ate at the villa, we used the barbecue and could sit on our terrace looking across the plain down to the sea in the distance. The swimming pool is large, with umbrellas, sun beds and natural shade from the trees. The views whilst sitting there are breathtaking, and other than horses conversing across the valley, there was little to disturb the peace. There are several steps down to the pool terrace, so small children would need supervising and access to the pool may not suit people who have poor mobility. Villa Silvana is a good base for visiting surrounding historic areas and beaches. The larger towns have good shops, restaurants and ancient buildings which are well worth visiting. The fish restaurants we visited here were second to none. We think a car is really necessary if staying in Villa Silvana, though we did not check out public transport. The local people are very friendly and helpful despite the language barriers and we alway felt safe and relaxed in the places we visited. Puglia has a charm and unspoilt character which is refreshing. We saw many young people, young families and the more mature, enjoying their own experience of Puglia which is also popular with Northern Italians. this was our ideal holiday. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to stay in Villa Silvana next year. What better recommendation!!!! BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!

Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday. My family and I so needed a break and we were ecstatic when we found your Villa. Not only were the views breathtaking, the weather amazing but the Villa was gorgeous, peaceful and I could tell it was well looked after and loved. I also loved having a private pool and being able to sit up on the terrace with a bottle of wine and looking out at the mountains and view of the sea. It was really just what we needed! I will definitely be back and have already told my friends about you.

Senore Sam - North London, UK

The first thing that struck me about Villa Silvana was its stunning view overlooking acres of olive groves and the sea. Also, its high point allows for a refreshingly cool breeze when the sun's heat gets up to those typical mediterranean heights. Having slept in the Dolci Ricordi Matrimonial suite, I was very impressed with the level of service and for the price this was definitely money well spent for all the family. The Villa was clean, well furnished with all mod cons and had useful guides as to how to best enjoy the surrounding region. I'd recommend hiring a car for your stay as there is so much to see and do in town and beyond. I particularly enjoyed seeing the various religious processions for which all the locals come out in their Sunday best. On an average day expect to find hidden in old cobbled streets, superb restaurants from which you literally come out of licking your lips. There are also great festivals going on throughout the year, one of which I caught, brimming with local folk, food, music and other cultural enrichment. One extra special moment I had was stumbling upon a great little Pizzeria that was tucked away behind a bar. I simply walked in, selected which meats I wanted on the base and Pasquale spun away like a trooper. Needless to say the result tasted delightful. There is a lot to be said for the Puglia region's slower pace of life. You actually feel as though you're on a relaxing holiday rather than rushing around to fit everything in. It is perfectly feasible to walk into a quality local restaurant and have a slap up meal without having to book in advance. If you like to lie on golden sandy beaches as much as your bed the sublime beaches in nearby Monopoli are a must. At night tent bars open up along the beaches there with top DJ playing funky sounds to which you can sip your Sangria. If it all gets too much the pool at Villa Silvana is perfect for unwinding. I'm giving it 5 stars!!!

Seeing you on line has inspired me to let you know what a truly wonderful holiday we had at Villa Silvana. It was really one of my favourite holidays of all time - you have a beautiful place which is obviously maintained with a lot of pride and care. The pool was just wonderful. Thank you

Clive, Pauline and Mathew Pinkney - Northern England, UK

Thank you both for a super holiday, we were delighted with the villa together with all its equipment and the swimming pool facility was splendid and a real joy to use, also the ideal location of the villa made it easy to explore the surrounding area, which we found to be not only interesting and varied, but also very friendly. We will have no hesitation in recommending your villa to our friends and we will be back ourselves Again many , many thanks for all your help and advice.

The perfect villa for a group of families

We spent a week in the luxurious Villa Silvana with 2 other families; there were 6 adults and 8 children in total and we all had a fantastic time without exception. Michael and Sue were very helpful and it is obvious that they have put an awful lot of thought and hard work into making the villa as well equipped and comfortable as possible. The pool area was particularly well used and the views out to the coast are amazing. We had the chef come in and cook for us twice which was well worth doing - she also made lasagna for all the kids on those nights and showed us how to make orecchiette pasta - everything was delicious. I would highly recommend the property to anyone that wants to spend some time exploring Puglia whilst enjoying some luxury accommodation and we will almost certainly return.

Thanks Michael and Sue for all your help in ensuring our stay was a memorable one.

A must stay

What a lovely villa in a great setting. Great pool for kids and adults alike. Great communal areas with plenty of DVDs for adults and kids. The local town has a great friendly small mini market and a butchers that will cook your meat. Susan and Michael could not have done enough. The bedrooms were roomy and all had fans. The sitting room had air con.

Thanks for one of the best holidays Sue and Mike

Fantastic property for lifelong memories!

Villa Silvana is a very well maintained and stocked property. We spent 2 weeks as a group of 4 families in the house and we had a great time. The location is perfect to explore Puglia, the house is very pleasant, the pool is wonderful and the view is breathtaking. Sue and Michael are great hosts, always there when you need them but very discreet the rest of the time.

We hope to be back soon!

Schreenanfest at Villa Silvana

Our family consisting of fifteen members with ages ranging from thirteen to seventy have just returned from a memorable holiday in Villa Silvana. Susanne and Michael always answered our questions and requests promptly. These requests included organising taxis and asking Lina to cook us a welcoming meal and some typical Puglian meals during the week. ( We recommend Lina's delicious meals.) We also recommend shopping at Maria's and Fedrico's Mini-Mart. They could supply most of our needs. The spacious, sparkling clean pool was very popular because the weather was very hot. The table on the terrace was perfect for our meals. We would gather around , eat and share our experiences.

Simply beautiful

Well what can I say, villa silvanna defiantly has the wow factor, everything from the stunning views to the little extras, such as a beautiful welcome hamper, wide selection of DVDs and CDs, where all perfect, we really where made to feel very special. The surrounding areas are just a lovely, we traveled with young children and as anyone with children will understand you worry about everything and anything but their was plenty to entertain them all, both in the villa and in the near by villages. I would really recommend the splash park to anyone looking for a day out, very clean tidy and kid friendly 5star!!! The villa owners where great very friendly and helpful assisting with anything and everything.

We will be returning again next year!

Perfect Home-Base for Exploring Puglia Region

Beautiful property perched high on a hillside affording unimpeded views of the Fasano area and Adriatic Sea. Fully appointed with a spacious well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and bedrooms, gorgeous pool, and numerous outdoor areas (terraces and porches) with tables, chairs, and lounges. The property is immaculately maintained and built for comfort and relaxation -- and is convenient to so many villages and beaches (we took day trips to Matera and the Basilicata region and shorter trips to Alberobello and the village and beaches of Savelletri and still made it back to enjoy wine and dinner at dusk). Thoroughly worth it, and highly recommended.

Fantastic luxury retreat

This spacious villa is set in rural Puglia, with wonderful panoramic views of the countryside and sea beyond. It is beautifully quiet and perfect for large parties of family or friends to get together for a special time together. The villa, pool and surrounding grounds are maintained to a very high standard - there are several outdoor dining areas and the design allows for privacy and relaxation. We enjoyed relaxing by the large pool, eating al fresco and exploring the local villages. We also took advantage of the chefs who cooked us two very special 4 course dinners using the best local produce. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, allowing us time to settle in and being on hand if we needed any information. We shall certainly return!

Happy Families in Puglia

We took nine grandchildren ( seven under 7 ) and their six parents to Villa Silvana. Amazingly, we had a fabulous time !The villa is appointed to the highest standard in all respects, but just as importantly, is supported by owners who really want to make sure you enjoy yourselves. Our arrival day was the birthday of one of the children, and there in the freezer was a top notch personalized ice cream gateau. Can't beat that! Excellent butcher and trattoria walking distance away and super clean ,almost deserted sandy beaches ten minutes by car, good restaurants too, recommend Santos in particular. The weather was not as warm as it should have been, but we swam every day and there are lots of other things to do in the area. All the locals are polite and helpful and you feel that you are welcome in Puglia.

We will definitely be coming back!

Fantastica esperienza

Outstanding Villa and warm, genuine hospitality

We can't thank you enough for a wonderful two weeks in your beautifully appointed and lavish villa. As four families holidaying together, the unique layout of Villa Silvana allowed for terrific fun times together over meals and by the pool but also for quiet private times when appropriate. A real enhancement to our experience was your genuine interest in our best possible experience of the Villa and local services available to use. All of your recommendations and bookings made kindly on our behalf were outstanding.

We'll definitely be back and can't recommend your lovely villa highly enough. I'd be only too happy to provide more comment directly to anyone wanting more information.

Cheers and thank you again.

Perfect for our family

We were a group of 15 (10 adults and 5 children between the ages of 7 and 11). The villa was perfectly suited to our requirements, loads of space for everyone, lots of seating, pool loungers aplenty, loads of cutlery, plates, etc etc. The property is really child friendly and the kids had an amazing time playing football, swimming in the pool and working their way through the huge DVD library. I didn't meet the owners as I wasn't involved in any of the booking, but I did have some contact by e-mail prior to arrival and they couldn't have been more helpful and responded quickly. The parents had peace of mind that the property was clean, free of any breakables and safe. There is loads to do in the area (and everything seems to be 20 mins away) and the cove/beach at Polignano d Mare was a particular favourite. On a practical note, there is a large supermarket nearby, a few pizzerias, as well as a minimart within walking distance, which sells all the essentials. Lena, who cooked for us one night was also brilliant. We would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful, peaceful, luxurious property

We had a fantastic break here and I would highly recommend it!!The house was in an excellent location with beautiful views from the top of the hill. The whole house has been done and maintained to a very high standard - each room is very comfortable, clean and decorated well. We really enjoyed the private swimming pool and spent much of our time relaxing out here - surrounded by trees and great views. The owners were lovely, and very helpful...they speak both English and Italian, gave us lots of recommendations, and are also living nearby so that was really helpful for us.

Spacious and luxurious. Beautifully presented.

The villa is beautifully furnished and renovated to an exceptionally high standard. It is spacious and welcoming with delightful artwork and majestic furniture. The rooms are warm and inviting giving the guest both privacy and collective engagement. The swimming pool is immaculately clean as are all the common areas, kitchens and bathrooms. The location is stunning with views over the coastal plain to the east. The villa is privately situated and quiet allowing for the odd passing vehicle. Sunrise welcomes the guest on all the terraces and the swimming pool is a sun- trap until well into the late afternoon. The villa is well appointed with kitchens and bathrooms allowing privacy even for high guest numbers ( 15 males in our case ) All in all a delightful and enjoyable home. Wanted to stay longer of course. Thank you Michael and Susannah! Hope to return to the Villa Silvana very soon.
